Martha J. Crawford has been named dean of the Jack Welch College of Business at Sacred Hart University in Fairfield, Connecticut. She currently serves as a member of the Harvard Business School faculty.
Dr. Crawford holds an MBA from the College des Ingenieurs in Paris, France, and a master’s degree and doctoral degree both in environmental and chemical engineering from Harvard University.
Marion Broome has been reappointed as dean of the School of Nursing at Duke University. She is the Ruby Wilson Professor of Nursing and has served as the school’s dean since 2014. She also serves as vice chancellor for nursing affairs at Duke University and as associate vice president for academic affairs for nursing at Duke University Health System.
Dr. Broome is a graduate of the Medical College of Georgia where she majored in nursing. She holds a master of nursing degree from the University of South Carolina and a Ph.D. in child and family development from the University of Georgia.
Robin Renee Davis has been named dean of the Sydney Lewis School of Business at Virginia Union University. She most recently served as an associate professor of management and director of the Center for Entrepreneurship at Claflin University in Orangeburg, South Carolina.
Dr. Davis is a graduate of South Carolina State University where she majored in business administration. She holds an MBA from Alabama A&M University and a Ph.D. in organization management from Capella University.
Sherrill Smith has been named dean of the Fay W. Whitney School of Nursing at the University of Wyoming. She currently serves as a tenured professor in the College of Nursing and Health at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.
Dr. Smith is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire where she majored in nursing. She holds a master’s degree in nursing education and community health from Wright State University and a Ph.D. in nursing education from the University of Colorado-Greeley.
Linda Burton has been named dean of the School of Social Welfare at the University of California, Berkeley. She currently serves as a professor of sociology at Duke University. From 2014 to 2017, she served as dean of Duke’s Trinity College of Arts and Science.
Dr. Burton holds a bachelor’s degree in gerontology and a master’s degree and doctoral degree in sociology all from the University of Southern California.
Anne Curzan has been named dean of the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts at the University of Michigan. She currently serves as the college’s associate dean for the humanities, an Arthur F. Thurnau Professor, a Geneva Smitherman Collegiate Professor of English Language and Literature, and a professor of English language and literature, of linguistics, and of education.
Dr. Curzan holds a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan.
Dr. Scarlatta has led the University of Michigan-Dearbon on an interim basis for the past year. Pending approval from the board of regents, she is slated to become the university's permanent leader on May 22.
