Karrin Wilks to Lead the Borough of Manhattan Community College in New York City

Karrin E. Wilks was appointed interim president of the Borough of Manhattan Community College, a campus of the City University of New York. She will take office on September 1.

The college enrolls nearly 27,000 students, according to the latest data supplied to the U.S. Department of Education. Women make up 58 percent of the student body.

Dr. Wilks has been serving as senior vice president and provost at the college since 2014 and has been with the City University of New York for eight years. Earlier, Dr. Wilks was senior vice president at Vermont State Colleges.

Dr. Wilks is a graduate of Middlebury College in Vermont, where she majored in history and creative writing. She holds a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction and a doctorate in policy and leadership development from the University of Vermont.
