Durba Chatterjee is the new associate vice president of institutional advancement at Virginia State University. She has more than 20 years of experience in higher education fundraising including terms at Spelman College in Atlanta and the Technical College System of Georgia.
Chatterjee is a graduate of Calcutta University in India. She holds a master’s degree from the University of Burdwan in India and an MBA from the University of Missouri.
Amy B. McIntosh was appointed associate vice chancellor for academic strategy at the City University of New York. She was acting assistant secretary for the Office of Planning, Evaluation and Policy Development in the U.S. Department of Education.
McIntosh is a graduate of Harvard University, where she majored in economics. She earned an MBA at Harvard Business School.
Crystal A. Williams was named associate provost for diversity and inclusion at Boston University, effective in October. Since 2013, she has been serving as associate vice president for strategic initiatives and a professor of English at Bates College in Maine. Earlier, she was a professor and dean for institutional diversity at Reed College in Portland, Oregon.
Williams hold a bachelor’s degree from New York University and a master of fine arts degree from Cornell University. She is the author of four volumes of poetry including Detroit as Barn (Lost Horse Press, 2014).

Mills is a graduate of Baylor University in Waco, Texas, where she majored in history. She earned a law degree at the University of Kansas.

Dr. Smith earned an educational doctorate at Tennessee State University in Nashville.

DeFord is a graduate of the University of Maryland, where she majored in English.

Griffith is a graduate of Xavier University in New Orleans. She holds a certificate in human resources management from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Slattery is a graduate of the University of Michigan, where she majored in materials science and engineering. She holds a Ph.D. in bio-medical engineering from Pennsylvania State University

Stiel is a graduate of Louisiana State University, where she majored in communication studies.

Dr. Dodge is a graduate of the University of California, Irvine. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in English from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Kilgore is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Crookston. She holds a master’s degree in higher education from the University of North Dakota.
