Beyoncé Knowles, the entertainment icon, has established scholarships for women in the creative arts, music, literature, or African American studies at four colleges and universities.
The Formation Scholar awards were established “to encourage and support young women who are unafraid to think outside the box and are bold, creative, conscious, and confident.”
One woman at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Howard University in Washington, D.C., Parsons School of Design in New York, and Spelman College in Atlanta will be awarded the scholarships. Current or incoming graduate or undergraduate women are eligible for the scholarships.
