Alanna Hamilton to Lead Jackson State Community College in Tennessee

The Tennessee Board of Regents has appointed Alanna R. Hamilton as the fifth president of Jackson State Community College. She will take office on January 10.

Jackson State Community College enrolls about 4,300 students. Women make up 63 percent of the student body.

Since 2010, Dr. Hamilton has been vice president for academic affairs at Northeast State Community College in Blountville, Tennessee. She has been a faculty member at the college since 1991.

Dr. Hamilton is a graduate of Tusculum College in Greenville, Tennessee, where she majored in biology. She earned a master’s degree in biological sciences and a doctorate in education from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City.
