Missy Hopper of Mississippi State University to Lead Phi Kappa Phi

Missy HopperMissy Hopper, an associate professor in the department of curriculum, instruction, and special education at Mississippi State University has been named president-elect of Phi Kappa Phi.She will become president in two years.

The honor society was founded in 1897 at the University of Maine. It is the nation’s oldest, largest, and most selective honor society for all academic disciplines. Since its founding, more than 1 million members have been inducted into the honorary society.

Dr. Hopper has been active in Phi Kappa Phi for the past 10 years and recently served as vice president for chapter development. She also was the Mississippi State University chapter president.

Dr. Hopper is a graduate of Mississippi State University. She holds a doctorate in holistic teaching and learning from the University of Tennessee.
