One Woman Among the Finalists for President of Westfield State University in Massachusetts

Westfield State University in Massachusetts has announced a field of three candidates who are finalists for the position of president of the university. The university, located west of Springfield, enrolls about 5,600 undergraduates and more than 700 graduate students. Women make up 53 percent of the undergraduate students.

The three finalists for president of the university will all visit campus over the new two weeks to engage in a series of interviews and forums. One of the three candidates is a woman.

Linda-VadenGoadLinda Vaden-Goad is provost and vice president for academic affairs at Framingham State University in suburban Boston. Before coming to Framingham State in 2010, Dr. Vaden-Goad was dean of the School of Arts and Sciences at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury. From 1990 to 2002, Dr. Vaden-Goad served on the faculty of the downtown campus of the University of Houston.

Dr. Vaden Goad holds bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in psychology, all from the University of Houston.
