Lorna McGhee will join the faculty at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh this fall as an artist lecturer in the School of Music. She is a flutist for the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.
A native of Scotland, McGhee was trained at the Royal Academy of Music and the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. Previously, she taught at the University of Michigan and the University of British Columbia.
Sonal S. Tuli was named chair of the department of ophthalmology in the College of Medicine at the University of Florida. She has served as interim chair since October 2013. Dr. Tuli joined the faculty at the University of Florida in 2001.
Professor Tuli earned her medical degree at Grant Medical College in Mumbai, India. She completed her residency in ophthalmology at Indiana University. She later earned a master’s degree in education at the University of Florida.
Jeannine Bell was appointed the Richard S. Melvin Professor of Law at the Indiana University Mauer School of Law in Bloomington. Professor Bell joined the faculty at Indiana University in 1999. Her most recent book is Hate Thy Neighbor: Move-in Violence and the Persistence of Racial Segregation in American Housing (New York University Press, 2013).
Professor Bell is a graduate of Harvard University. She holds a law degree and a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan.
Amy Landis was appointed to the Thomas F. Hash ’69 SmartState Endowed Chair in Sustainable Development at Clemson University in South Carolina, effective July 1. She currently serves as an associate professor at Arizona State University.
Dr. Landis is a graduate of Denison University in Granville, Ohio. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Norma Riccucci was appointed a Board of Governors Professor in the School of Public Affairs and Administration at Rutgers University in Newark, New Jersey. She is the author of several books including How Management Matters: Street-Level Bureaucrats and Welfare Reform (Georgetown University Press, 2005).
Professor Riccucci is a graduate of Florida International University in Miami. She holds a master of public administration degree from the University of Southern California and a Ph.D. in public administration from Syracuse University in New York.
Donita Brady was named Presidential Assistant Professor of Cancer Biology in the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Her appointment is effective on July 1. She has been serving as a senior research associate at the Duke University School of Medicine.
Dr. Brady is a graduate of Radford University in Virginia, where she majored in chemistry. She holds a Ph.D. in pharmacology and cancer biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Ann Burkhardt was named director of the occupational therapy program at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. She is the former director of the post-professional online master’s degree program in occupational therapy at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. She was also an associate professor of occupational therapy at Long Island University in New York.
Dr. Burkhardt is a graduate of Wheaton College. She holds a master’s degree from New York University and a doctorate in occupational therapy from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska.
