Lori A. Ringhand, the J. Alton Hosch Professor of Law at the University of Georgia is the co-author of Supreme Court Confirmation Hearings and Constitutional Change (Cambridge University Press, 2013). The book was recently selected as the Outstanding Academic Title for 2014 by Choice: Current Reviews for Academic Libraries.
The book, co-authored by Paul M. Collins Jr., an associate professor of political science at the University of Massachusetts, presents the arguement that Supreme Court confirmation hearings are far more than political theater. In fact, the authors state that the hearings are important forums for debating contemporary constitutional issues.
Professor Ringhand joined the faculty at the University of Georgia in 2008 after teaching at the University of Kentucky College of Law. A graduate of the University of Oxford in England, she earned her law degree at the University of Wisconsin, where she was an articles editor for the Wisconsin Law Review.
