Two Women Appointed to Endowed Professorships at Yale Law School

Cristina M. Rodriguez was named the Leighton Homer Surbeck Professor of Law. She joined the Yale Law School faculty in 2013 after serving as deputy assistant attorney general in the Office of Legal Counsel at the U.S. Department of Justice. She previously served on the faculty at the New York University School of Law.

Professor Rodriguez is a graduate of Yale University and Yale Law School. She also earned a master’s degree in modern history as a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University in England.

Claire Priest is the new Simeon E. Baldwin Professor of Law. Her research focuses on the intersection of legal and economic history in early America. Before joining the faculty at Yale, Professor Priest taught law and history at Northwestern University.

Professor Priest is a graduate of Yale University and Yale Law School, where she was articles editor and symposium chair for the The Yale Law Journal. She also holds a Ph.D. in history from Yale University.
