Majorie Funk was named the Helen Porter Jayne and Martha Prosser Jayne Professor of Nursing. She has served on the Yale School of Nursing faculty since 1984. Professor Funk conducts research on the use of technology in the care of critically ill patients with heart disease.
Dr. Funk is a graduate of Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts. She holds a second bachelor’s degree from the Cornell University-New York Hospital School of Nursing. Professor Funk earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in chronic disease epidemiology from Yale University.
Nancy S. Redeker is the inaugural Beatrice Renfield Term Professor of Nursing. Her appointment runs through June 2019. Dr. Redeker’s research concerns sleep and sleep disorders. Before joining the faculty at Yale, she taught at Rutgers University and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
Professor Redeker is a graduate of Rutgers University. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from Seton Hall University and a Ph.D. in nursing research and theory development from New York University.
Nancy R. Reynolds was appointed the Independence Foundation Professor of Nursing. She has been on the faculty at Yale since 2007 and previously taught at Ohio State University. Her research is focused on preventing transmission and improving treatment for HIV/AIDS patients.
Dr. Reynolds is a graduate of the University of Michigan. She earned a Ph.D. at Ohio State University.
With more than 30 years of experience in higher education, Dr. Richtermeyer has spent the past three years as executive vice chancellor for academic affairs and provost at Rutgers University-Camden
Cheryl Norman was appointed president of Ridgewater College in Minnesota and Ellen Kennedy was named interim president of Cape Cod Community College in Massachusetts.
Dr. Scarlatta has led the University of Michigan-Dearbon on an interim basis for the past year. Pending approval from the board of regents, she is slated to become the university's permanent leader on May 22.
Nicole Reaves has been serving as executive vice president and chief programs officer at Wake Technical Community College in Raleigh, North Carolina. On July 15, she is slated to become the first woman president of Schenectady County Community College within the State University of New York System.
