Four Women Academics Honored With Prestigious Awards

Marianne D. Kulow, professor of law, taxation, and financial planning at Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts, received the 2014 John Bonsignore Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching from the International Academy of Legal Studies in Business.

Professor Kulow is a graduate of Harvard University. She holds a master’s degree from the University of Liverpool in England and a juris doctorate from Boston University.

dockRobin E. Dock, associate professor of rehabilitation counseling at Winston-Salem State University in North Carolina, received the Sylvia Walker Education Award from National Association of Multicultural Rehabilitation Concerns, a division of the National Rehabilitation Association.

Dr. Dock holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. She earned a Ph.D. in counseling psychology from the University of Georgia.

donna_slovenskyDonna Slovensky, professor and associate dean of academic and student affairs in the School of Health Professions at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, received the Literacy Legacy Award from the American Health Information Management Association.

Dr. Slovensky is the co-editor of the forthcoming Handbook of Healthcare Management Research.

grahamtoniToni Graham has received the Flannery O’Connor Award for Short Fiction from the University of Georgia Press. Her short story, “The Suicide Club” will be published by the press in 2015. Graham is an associate professor of English and creative writing at Oklahoma State University. She is the editor-in-chief of the Cimarron Review.

Professor Graham holds a master of fine arts degree from San Francisco State University. She is the author of two other short story collections: Waiting for Elvis (Leapfrog Press, 2005) and The Daiquiri Girls (University of Massachusetts Press, 1998).
