
Last fall, Dr. Richmond was only the second scholar to be named to a Presidential Chair at the University of Oregon. She was serving as the Richard M. and Patricia H. Noyes Professor of chemistry at the university. Before joining the faculty at the University of Oregon in 1985, she taught at Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania.
Dr. Richmond is co-founder and chair of the Committee on the Advancement of Women Chemists. Professor Richmond is a graduate of Kansas State University and holds a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of California at Berkeley.
