Catherine A. Epstein was named dean of the faculty at Amherst College in Massachusetts. She is a professor of history at the high-ranking liberal arts college. Professor Epstein has been on the faculty at Amherst College since 2000.
Dr. Epstein is the author of three books including Model Nazi: Arthur Greiser and the Occupation of Western Poland (Oxford University Press, 2010). She serves as the associate editor of the journal Central European History. Professor Epstein is a graduate of Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. She holds a master’s degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Ph.D. from Harvard University.
Kimberly Engber was appointed dean of the new Honors College at Wichita State University in Kansas. The Honors College will enroll its first students this coming fall. Dr. Engber has been on the faculty at the university since 2007 and since July 2012 has served as the director of the Emory Lindquist Honors Program.
Dr. Engber is a graduate of Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio. She earned a Ph.D. in English at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York.
Karin Wittenborg was reappointed to a new five-year term as dean of libraries and University Librarian for the University of Virginia. She joined the library staff at the university in 1993. She oversees 11 library facilities that combined have more than 5 million books.
Dean Wittenborg is a graduate of Brown University. She holds a master of library science degree from the University at Buffalo of the State University of New York system.
