Seven Women Taking on New Administrative Posts in Higher Education

GochnourNatalie Gochnour was appointed associate dean at the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah. For the past seven years she has been director of public policy work for the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce, representing more than 7,000 businesses in the Salt Lake City metropolitan area. She is the former associate administrator for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Gochnour holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in economics from the University of Utah.

noahAmy R. Noah was named interim vice president for development at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. She has been serving as associate vice president for development.

Noah joined the staff at the university in 2001 and three years later was named director of corporate relations in the dean’s office of the School of Engineering. She was promoted to director of advancement for the College of Engineering in September 2007.

pr_VP_Judy_TaylorJudy Taylor was promoted to vice president of institutional advancement and executive director of the GPTC Foundation at Georgia Piedmont Technical College in Clarkston. She has been serving as director of resource development and executive director of the Technical College Foundation Association.

Taylor is a graduate of Berry College in Rome, Georgia, where she majored in business administration. She is currently working on a master’s degree in higher education at North Park University in Chicago.

wintersMargaret E. Winters was named interim senior vice president for academic affairs and provost at Wayne State University in Detroit. She will serve in the post while a nationwide search in instituted to find a permanent person for the position. Dr. Winters has been serving as associate provost and associate vice president for academic personnel.

A graduate of Brooklyn College in New York, Dr. Winters holds a master’s degree from the University of California at Riverside and a Ph.D. in Romance linguistics from the University of Pennsylvania.

RuthWatkinsRuth V. Watkins was appointed senior vice president for academic affairs at the University of Utah. She has been serving as dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Illinois. She also is a professor of speech and hearing science, psychology, and linguistics at the university. She joined the faculty at the University of Illinois in 1993.

Dr. Watkins is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa, where she majored in speech-language pathology. She earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in child language at the University of Kansas.

karvonen100Meagan Karvonen was named associate director of the Dynamic Learning Maps project in the Educational Testing and Evaluation research center at the University of Kansas. She has been serving as associate professor of educational research at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina.

A graduate of Alma College in Michigan, Dr. Karvonen earned a master’s degree in clinical and community psychology at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a doctorate in educational psychology at the University of South Carolina.

dr-pamela-fuller-ed-d-rnPamela Fuller was named president of the Phoenix campus of the Chamberlain College of Nursing. She was the dean of the University of Phoenix College of Nursing.

Dr. Fuller holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from the University of Phoenix and an educational doctorate from Argosy University.
