Colgate University, the highly rated liberal arts college in Hamilton, New York, has announced the promotion of nine members of its faculty. Three of the promotions went to women.
Amy Leventer was promoted to professor of geology. Her research focuses on oceanography, paleoclimatology, Antarctic marine geology and biology, and environmental studies. Professor Leventer has served on the faculty at Colgate since 2000.
Dr. Leveter is graduate of Brown University, where she majored in aquatic biology. She holds a master’s degree in marine science from the University of South Carolina and a Ph.D. in geology from Rice University.
Jessica Graybill was named associate professor of geography and granted tenure. Her research interests include political ecology, urban ecology, and former Soviet Union area studies.
Dr. Graybill is a graduate of the University of Arizona. She earned a master’s degree at Yale University and a Ph.D. at the University of Washington.
Krista Ingram was promoted to associate professor of biology and granted tenure. Her research focuses on social behavior, molecular ecology, tropical conservation genetics, and comparative sociogenomics.
Dr. Ingram is a graduate of Dartmouth College and holds a Ph.D. from Harvard University.
