
Under her leadership, Missouri State’s graduate applications, enrollment, and retention have grown significantly. She has helped the university expand its graduate degree offerings, international partnerships, and community engagement. As a scholar, she researches optimal methods for assessment and documentation of treatment outcomes and response to intervention, spelling skills in individuals with sensory impairments, and the relationship between phonological productions and literacy skills.
Dr. Masterson received her bachelor’s degree in speech/language pathology and elementary education from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkansas, a master’s degree in speech pathology and audiology from Baylor University in Texas, and Ph.D in child language development and disorders from the University of Memphis.
