Texas Woman’s University Establishes Tuition-Free Enrollment for Harmony Public Schools System Graduates

Texas Woman’s University has recently announced a new partnership with Harmony Public Schools, a system consisting of 60 preK-12 schools throughout Texas, that will offer its high school students with a full scholarship to attend the university.

Harmony students who participate in the new program can attend Texas Woman’s University the fall following their high school graduation. They will have access to the university’s Zero Tuition Guarantee initiative, covering the cost of any tuition and fees not covered by federal and state aid or institutional scholarships.

The partnership stems from a shared mission at both institutions to provide equitable outcomes for women students. Harmony Public Schools is currently working towards their goal of narrowing the gender gap in STEM fields. Roughly 60 percent of Harmony’s women graduates go on to pursue a degree in a STEM field, compared to the national average of 24 percent.

“Texas Woman’s is committed to providing an outstanding education to students from all backgrounds, particularly those for whom a college education is financially out of reach ― and this partnership helps achieve that,” said Javier Flores, vice president for enrollment management at Texas Woman’s University.
