In Memoriam: Mollie Rose Autry Molnar, 1931-2021

Mollie Rose Molnar, a former professor and chair of the department of music at what is now Missouri State University in Springfield, died late last month from complications of a stroke. She was 90 years old.

Dr. Molnar was born in Burdette, Arkansas, where her father was superintendent of the public school system. Both of her parents served in the Arkansas House of Representatives.

Molnar was a graduate of Arkansas State University. She went on to receive a doctorate in music education from the University of Texas. She worked for several years as a teacher in the public schools before joining the faculty at Missouri State University.
