Eleven Women Who Will Be Taking on New Administrative Duties in Higher Education

Sarah Crawford-Parker has been named director of the university honors program in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences at the University of Kansas. She currently serves as assistant vice provost for the Office of First-Year Experience at the university.

Dr. Crawford-Parker is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas where she double majored in art history and history. She holds a master’s degree and Ph.D. both in history of art from the University of Kansas.

Amie Frame has been named research associate and grant writer in the Indiana University Innovation and Commercialization Office. Her new duties include matching grant opportunities to the interests of university researchers and reviewing and editing grant application packages for external funding.

Frame holds a master’s degree in public health from the Indiana University School of Medicine.

Umbreen Bhatti has been named the Constance Hess Williams ’66 Director of the Athena Center for Leadership Studies at Barnard College in New York City. She most recently served as director of the in-house innovation lab at KQED, the Bay Area’s Public Broadcasting System station.

Bhatti is a graduate of Barnard College where she majored in political science. She holds a juris doctorate from the University of Michigan Law School.

Madeline Pumariega has been named executive vice president and provost of Tallahassee Community College in Florida. She most recently served as chancellor of the Florida College System.

Dr. Pumariega holds a master of education degree in educational leadership and administration from Florida Atlantic University and a Ph.D. in community college leadership.

Danielle Porter has been named executive director of human resources at LeMoyne-Owen College in Memphis, Tennessee. She was employee services director at an information technology staffing company.

She holds a master’s degree in organizational management and a professional in human resources certificate.

Débora D. Ferreira has been named the chancellor’s liaison to the Office of General Counsel at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She is currently serving as executive director of equal opportunity and Title IX coordinator at the university.

Ferreira is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst where she earned degrees in Afro-American studies and legal studies. She holds a juris doctorate from Boston College Law School.

Lori K. McDonald has been promoted to vice president for student affairs at the University of Utah. She currently served as the university’s associate vice president and dean of students.

Dr. McDonald is a graduate of the University of Utah where she majored in biology. She holds a master’s degree in higher education and student affairs from Ohio State University and a doctorate from the University of Utah’s department of educational leadership and policy.

Felicia Washington has been named senior vice president of human resources at the University of Southern California. She was vice chancellor for workplace strategy, equity, and engagement at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Washington is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she majored in economics. She holds a juris doctorate from the University of Virginia School of Law.

Utibe Offiong has been named university audit executive at Syracuse University in New York. She has served as chief university auditor at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, since 2008.

Offiong holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and an MBA both from Northeastern University in Boston.

Stephanie Williams has been named director of Ohio University Press. She was director of marketing and sales at the University Press of Kentucky.

Williams holds a bachelor’s degree in writing and literature from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado.

Nikki Dunham has been named director of residence life in the Office of Housing and Residential Life at Wayne State University in Detroit. She was assistant director of residential life at Northwestern University.

Dunham is a graduate of Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan, where she double majored in psychology and public administration. She holds a master’s degree in college student development from Kansas State University.

Caroline Attardo Genco Named the First Woman President of the University at Buffalo

Dr. Geneco comes to her new role from Tufts University in Massachusetts, where she has served as provost for the past four years. She is slated become the University at Buffalo's first woman president on August 10.
