Three Women Promoted to Full Professor at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts

Amy Singleton Adams has been promoted to professor of Russian. She has been a faculty member at Holy Cross since 1993.

Dr. Adams holds a bachelor’s degree in Russian language and literature from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, and a master’s degree and Ph.D. in Slavic languages and literatures from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Sahar Bazzaz has been promoted to professor of Middle Eastern studies. She has been a faculty member at Holy Cross since 2003.

Dr. Bazzaz holds a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a master’s degree in Middle Eastern studies from the University of Chicago, and a Ph.D. in history and Middle Eastern studies from Harvard University.

Maria Guadalupe M. Rodrigues has been promoted to professor of political science. She has been a faculty member at Holy Cross since 1999.

Dr. Rodrigues holds a bachelor’s degree in law from Faculdade Candido Mendes in Brazil, a master’s degree in political science from Instituto Universitario de Pesquisas do Rio de Janerio, a master’s degree in political science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Ph.D. in political science from Boston University.

The College of the Holy Cross enrolls nearly 2,900 students. Women make up 51 percent of the student body.
