In Memoriam: Julia Rose Cayuso, 1957-2018

Julia CayusoJulia Cayuso, the director of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Miami in Florida, died on April 13 from injuries suffered in an accidental fall. She was 60 years old.

Dr. Cayuso worked at the University of Miami for more than 29 years. Before becoming director of the Lifelong Learning Institute, she served as director of the Intensive Language Institute and was a lecturer in English as a Second Language.

Dr. Cayuso was a graduate of the University of South Florida in Tampa, where she majored in English and anthropology. She held a master’s degree in applied linguistics from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale and a doctorate in higher education leadership from the University of Miami.
