Two Women Among the Three Finalists for Dean Position at North Dakota State University

ndsu-thumbNorth Dakota State University in Fargo has announced three finalists for the position of dean of the College of Human Development and Education. All three candidates will visit campus by the middle of May to participate in interviews and public forums. Two of the three finalists are women.

Jane_HeglandJane Hegland is associate dean of the College of Education and Human Sciences at South Dakota State University. She is also a professor and chair of the consumer sciences department at the university. Dr. Hegland is a graduate of St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, where she majored in psychology and design. She earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in textiles and clothing design from the University of Minnesota.

Jan-BowersJan Bowers is the dean of the School of Education and Human Ecology at the State University of New York at Oneonta. She also serves as a professor of human ecology and family and consumer sciences. Professor Bowers joined the faculty at the university in 2014. Dr. Bowers holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Central Washington University in Ellensburg and a Ph.D. from Kansas State University.
