LeAnne Howe Named the Inaugural Winner of the Prize for Studies in Native American Literatures

LeAnne-HoweLeAnne Howe, the Eidson Distinguished Professor of American Literature at the University of Georgia, will be the inaugural recipient of the Prize for Studies in Native American Literatures from the Modern Language Association. She is being honored for her book Choctalking on Other Realities (Aunt Lute Books, 2013). Professor Howe is a citizen of the Choctaw nation of Oklahoma.

Professor Howe holds a master of fine arts degree from Vermont College of Norwich University in Vermont.
