Davidson College, the highly rated liberal arts institution in North Carolina has announced the granting of tenure and promotion to associate professor for three scholars. Two of three faculty members earning promotions and tenure are women.
Caroline Beschea-Fache was promoted to associate professor of French and granted tenure. She joined the Davidson College faculty in 2007.
Dr. Beschea-Fache is a native of France. She earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Lille. She holds a Ph.D. in French from Indiana University.
Maria F. Fackler was appointed associate professor of English and was awarded tenure. Dr. Fackler grew up in Surrey, England, and moved with her family to the United States at the age of 16.
Dr. Fackler is a summa cum laude graduate of Duke University and holds a Ph.D. in English from Yale University. She joined the Davidson faculty in 2007 after completing her doctorate.
With more than 30 years of experience in higher education, Dr. Richtermeyer has spent the past three years as executive vice chancellor for academic affairs and provost at Rutgers University-Camden
Cheryl Norman was appointed president of Ridgewater College in Minnesota and Ellen Kennedy was named interim president of Cape Cod Community College in Massachusetts.
