The highest research award presented by the Council of Administrators of Special Education has been renamed in honor of Mary Lynn Boscardin, professor and program coordinator of special education leadership and administration at the University of Massachuetts Amherst.

In Memoriam: Kristi L. Kiick, 1967-2026

Dr. Kiick taught materials science and engineering at the University of Delaware for 23 years. During her tenure, she had stints as deputy dean of the College of Engineering and chair of the department of biomedical engineering.

In Memoriam: Laura Valdiviezo, 1969-2025

Dr. Valdiviezo was a professor of education at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. A scholar of educational ethnography, she served as chair of the department of teacher education and curriculum studies and as director of the Center for Latin American, Caribbean, and Latino Studies.
