Bucknell University, the highly rated liberal arts college in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, has announced the appointment of three women to assistant professor positions.
Kristy Schenck is a new assistant professor of management. After graduating from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Schenck worked as an accountant for several years with PriceWaterhouseCoopers and for the U.S. Department of Defense. She then returned to school to earn a master’s degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a Ph.D. from Pennsylvania State University.
Gabrielle Flynt was hired as an assistant professor of economics. Her research is focused on developing new analytical methods to help medical researchers get more useful data. Dr. Flynt is a graduate of the State University of New York at Fredonia. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in statistics from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.

iaJia Dong is an assistant professor of physics. She was an assistant professor of physics at Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota. Studying the interface of physics and biology, her research is focused on examining cell structures and how they reproduce. A graduate of Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China, Dr. Dong earned a master’s degree and Ph.D. in physics at Virginia Tech.
