Ana González has been named dean of the South County Education Centers and Online Learning at Hartnell College in Salinas, California. She has held leadership roles at the college for the past decade. Prior to her new role, she was director of the Soledad Education Center. Earlier, she was director of continuing education.
González received her bachelor’s degree from Stanford University and her master of public administration degree from Golden Gate University.
Aneika Simmons has joined the faculty at Prairie View A&M University in Texas as a full professor and interim dean of the College of Business. She comes to her new role from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, where she served as a professor of management for 18 years. During this time, she had a stint as interim associate vice provost for faculty success. Her teaching expertise includes human resource management, organizational behavior, strategic management and business policy.
Dr. Simmons is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, where she majored in management information systems with a minor in finance. She holds a master’s degree in speech communication from the University of Houston and a Ph.D. in management from Texas A&M University.
Terri Rebmann has been named the inaugural division dean of the School of Nursing in the College of Public Health at George Mason University in Virginia. She has been a faculty member with Saint Louis University in Missouri for the past 25 years, most recently serving as director of the Institute for Biosecurity and professor of epidemiology and biostatistics. Earlier in her tenure, she was associate dean for academic and faculty affairs in the College for Public Health and Social Justice.
Dr. Rebmann holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri, a master’s degree in clinical nursing from the University of Missouri, and a Ph.D. in nursing from Saint Louis University.
Susan Murin has been promoted from interim dean to permanent dean of the School of Medicine at the University of California, Davis. A faculty member with UC Davis Health for nearly three decades, she previously served as vice dean for clinical affairs and executive director of the UC Davis Medical Group. She is a full professor and clinician in the division of pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine.
Dr. Murin earned her bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University in New Jersey and her medical degree from New York University. She holds a master’s degree in clinical epidemiology from Harvard University and an MBA from the University of California, Davis.
Dr. Geneco comes to her new role from Tufts University in Massachusetts, where she has served as provost for the past four years. She is slated become the University at Buffalo's first woman president on August 10.
The new presidents are Laurie A. Boeding at the Technical College of the Lowcountry and Melissa Frank-Alston at Northeastern Technical College. Both women are expected to begin their presidencies on July 1.
Dr. McEwen comes to her new appointment following four years as president and vice chancellor of Victoria University in the University of Toronto. Earlier, she served in several leadership roles at the University of Toronto Mississauga. She received some of her education in the United States.
The new provosts are Barbara Rodriguez at the University of New Mexico, Bridget Chalk at Manhattan University in New York, and Jaci Lederman at Vincennes University in Indiana. All three women had been serving as their university's interim provost.
Dr. Howard joins Spelman from Ohio State University, where she has been serving as dean of the College of Engineering. She is a nationally recognized expert in robotics, artificial intelligence, and human-centered technology.
