New Administrative Duties for Five Women in Higher Education

Viviana Valle Gomez is the new associate director of women, gender, and sexual equity at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Valle Gomez is a third-year doctoral student in the feminist studies department at the university.

Valle Gomez is a graduate of the University of California, Davis with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and gender, sexuality and women’s studies as well as a minor in Chicana/o studies before receiving a master’s degree in American studies with an emphasis in sexuality and gender from Columbia University in New York.

Destiny Duron Deas has been appointed vice president for advancement at Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri. She is an attorney, author, and entrepreneur. She is also an ordained minister affiliated with the Assemblies of God.

Duron Deas earned s bachelor’s degree in economics and international studies from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. She holds a master’s degree in East Asian Studies from Duke University and a juris doctorate from Duke Law School.

Fran Albrecht was named vice president for advancement at Montana State University. She will also serve as president of the Montana State University Alumni Foundation. She has been serving as the chief philanthropy officer for Providence Montana Health Foundation in Missoula.

Originally from Great Falls, Montana, Albrecht earned a bachelor’s degree from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. She holds a master’s degree in education from the Billings campus of Montana State University.

Valencia Jordan is the new director of athletics at Fisk University in Nashville. She was serving as special programs coordinator at the Metropolitan Davidson County Parks Department. Jordan worked in various roles at Tennessee State University from 1989 to 2021. She was the volleyball coach from 1992 to 1994, assistant women’s basketball coach in 2000, and was promoted to head coach in 2001. She later went on to become the associate athletic director/senior woman administrator at the university.

Jordan is a graduate of Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee, where she majored in health and psychology. She holds a master’s degree in health and physical education from Tennessee State University.

Sadie Greiner is the inaugural chief construction officer at Florida State University. In this new role, Greiner will oversee more than $1 billion in ongoing construction projects, manage design and construction, and provide guidance on master planning. She was the director of planning, design, and construction at the University of Iowa.

Greiner holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and an MBA, both from the University of Iowa.
