Julie Zimmerman, a globally recognized engineer whose research in green engineering laid the groundwork for a generation of safer, more sustainable chemicals, materials, and practices across industry and academia, has been named the inaugural vice provost for planetary solutions at Yale University. Dr. Zimmerman is a professor with a dual appointment in the department of chemical and environmental engineering and the Yale School of the Environment.
Professor Zimmerman is a graduate of the University of Virginia, where she majored in civil engineering. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in environmental and water resources engineering from the University of Michigan.
M. D. Lovett has joined Clark Atlanta University as an associate professor of psychology. She previously taught at Valdosta State University in Georgia. Dr. Lovett is the author of Africana Health Psychology: A Cultural Perspective (Lexington Books, 2023).
Dr. Lovett holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in community psychology from Florida A&M University. She earned a doctoral degree in social psychology at the University of Cincinnati.
Alyssa Wise has joined the faculty at Peabody College of education and human development at Vanderbilt University in Nashville as a professor of technology and education in the department of teaching and learning. Dr. Wise came to Vanderbilt from New York University where she was a professor of learning sciences and education technology in the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development and the director of NYU’s Learning Analytics Research Network.
Professor Wise is a graduate of Yale University, where she majored in chemistry. She holds a master’s degree in instructional systems technology and a Ph.D. in learning science from Indiana University.

Dr. Bruening is a graduate of St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York, where she majored in biology. She holds a master’s degree in nutrition from Syracuse University and a Ph.D. in clinical nutrition from New York University.

Dr. Autry is a graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Wisconsin.

Dr. Madrigano holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering from the Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey. She earned a master of public health degree from Rutgers University in New Jersey and a doctorate in epidemiology and environmental health from Harvard University.

Dr. Squires is a graduate of the University of Maryland, where she majored in electrical engineering. She holds an MBA from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, and received a Ph.D. from Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey.
