A Quartet of Women Who Have Been Appointed to Endowed Professorships

Yue Hillon, professor of management in the College of Business at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina, has been named to Wesley R. Elingburg Distinguished Professor of Business Innovation, effective July 1. Dr. Hillon, who has taught at the university since 2014, started off her career in software development before changing her career path to higher education.

Dr. Hillon earned a bachelor’s degree in business information systems, an MBA, and a doctorate in strategic management, all from New Mexico State University.

Katarzyna Anna Bilicka was appointed the Lars Peter Hansen Professor of Economics and Statistics in the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University. Her research focuses on public economics and public finance with a focus on corporate tax avoidance of multinational firms.

Dr. Bilicka holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and economics and a master’s degree in international economics from the University of Warwick in England. She earned a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Oxford.

Dawn C. Nunziato was recently installed as the Theodore and James Pedas Family Professor of Intellectual Property and Technology Law at the George Washington University Law School. She is the author of Virtual Freedom: Net Neutrality and Free Speech in the Internet Age (Stanford University Press, 2009).

Professor Nunziato holds a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree, and a juris doctorate, all from the University of Virginia.

Sally Fortenberry, department chair and professor in the department of fashion merchandising, was named a Piper Professor at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. She also serves as director of the Center for Merchandising Education and Research at the university.

Dr. Forterberry is a graduate of Carson-Newman University in Jefferson City, Tennessee. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from Texas Woman’s University.
