Martha Michelle Estrada has joined the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences as an assistant professor in the Division of Transplant Surgery at the College of Medicine.
Dr. Estrada earned a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She received her medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Dr. Estrada was trained in abdominal transplant surgery at the University of Cincinnati after completing a general surgery residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.
Kimberly Long, a professor of psychology at Kansas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Wichita, was given the added duties of chief administrative officer. Prior to joining the faculty at the medical school in 2021, she served as the provost and vice president for academic affairs at Newman University in Wichita.
Dr. Long holds a bachelor’s degree in social and behavioral science and a master’s degree in management from the University of Mary in Bismark, North Dakota. She earned a Ph.D. in psychology from Capella University.
Salome Brooks has been appointed clinical professor, chair, and program director of the department of physical therapy at Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York. She was the founding program director and professor of the doctor of physical therapy program at Gordon College in Massachusetts. Earlier, Dr. Brooks served as associate professor and assistant professor of physical therapy at Springfield College in Massachusetts.
Dr. Brooks is a graduate of Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut, where she majored in physical therapy. She holds an MBA from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut, a master’s degree in motor control and education from Columbia University, and a doctorate in educational leadership and policy studies from Southern Connecticut State University.
Ruaa Al Juboori has joined the University of Mississippi faculty as an assistant professor of public health. She will also serve as a data analytics statistician with the university’s Institute of Child Nutrition. Dr. Al Juboori first came to the U.S. in 2016 as a Fulbright Scholar studying public health at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.
Al Juboori received her medical training at Bagdad University in Iraq. She earned a Ph.D. in health outcomes research at the Saint Louis University School of Medicine.
Meredith Niles, an associate professor in the department of nutrition and food sciences at the University of Vermont was given the additional duties of acting director of the Gund Institute for Environment at the university. Prior to her academic career, Meredith worked for the United States Department of State in HIV/AIDS public health and for several food and environmental non-profit organizations.
Dr. Niles is a graduate of the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., where she majored in political science. She holds a Ph.D. in ecology from the University of California, Davis.
