Ana LoÌpez was named director of Chicano programs at New Mexico State University. She was an assistant professor in the departments of TESOL and special education at Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Dr. LoÌpez holds a bachelor’s degree in education from the Universidad AutoÌnoma de Ciudad JuaÌrez in Mexico. She earned a master’s degree in special education and a Ph.D. in special education with a focus on bilingual and multicultural special education from New Mexico State University.
Cynthia Reinhart-King, Cornelius Vanderbilt Professor of Engineering and professor of biomedical engineering at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, has accepted the position of senior associate dean for research at the university. Professor Reinhart-King is president-elect of the Biomedical Engineering Society.
Dr. Reinhart-King is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she majored in chemical engineering and biology. She holds a Ph.D. in bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
Norrisa Haynes has joined the faculty in the Section of Cardiovascular Medicine at Yale Medical School. She worked for Partners in Health in Haiti at Hôpital Universitaire de Mirebalais and was an instructor at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Haynes received a bachelor’s degree in molecular and cellular biology from Yale University. She completed medical school and her internal medicine and residency training at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. She also holds a master of public health degree from Harvard University and a master’s degree in health policy from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.
Amy Millicent Morris is the new director of the School of the Arts in the College of Communication, Fine Arts, and Media at the University of Nebraska Omaha. She is a professor of art history at the university. She joined the faculty in 2012.
Professor Morris earned a master’s degree in art history at Kent State University in Ohio and a Ph.D. in art history at Indiana University.
Lara B. Fowler, assistant director of the Institutes of Energy and the Environment at Pennsylvania State University and a senior lecturer in law, has been named the interim director of the Sustainability Institute and the university’s chief sustainability officer.
Fowler holds a bachelor’s degree in Asian studies from Dartmouth College. She earned a juris doctorate from the University of Washington.
Jennifer Schaller is a new assistant professor and open educational resources librarian at the University of New Mexico. She was an English professor at Central New Mexico Community College.
Schaller holds a bachelor’s degree in English and journalism and mass communications and a master of fine arts degree in creative writing from the University of New Mexico.
