Colleen McGlone was appointed interim dean of the College of Health and Human Performance at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, South Carolina. She is a professor of recreation and sport management, director of the sport management graduate program, and has served as department chair as well as the academic director of CCU’s Reserve Officer Training Corps program. Prior to her academic career, Dr. McGlone served in the U.S. Navy and was a research coordinator for the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Dr. McGlone earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science, master’s degrees in exercise science and sport administration, and a Ph.D. in sport management, all from the University of New Mexico.
ReneÌ Hauser has been named dean of the School of Education at St. Bonaventure University in Allegany, New York. Dr. Hauser has taught in the School of Education since 2004, serving as director of the Differentiated Instruction program from 2009 to 2019 and the Inclusive Special Education programs since 2019.
Dr. Hauser earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Buffalo State University. She holds a doctorate in special education from the University at Buffalo.
Stephanie J. Rowley has been appointed the dean of the School of Education and Human Development at the University of Virginia. Dr. Rowley has been serving as provost, vice president for academic affairs and dean at Teachers College of Columbia University in New York. She holds a tenured appointment as a professor of psychology and education.
Professor Rowley received a bachelor’s degree in psychology and African American studies from the University of Michigan. She earned both a master’s degree and doctorate in developmental psychology from the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences at the University of Virginia.
Tammi Dice will be the next dean of the Darden College of Education and Professional Studies at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, effective June 10, 2022. Dr. Dice joined the faculty of Old Dominion University in 2005 and since has obtained tenure and promotion to full professor as well as held a number of administrative positions, including interim dean for the past two years.
Dr. Dice earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in counseling from Old Dominion University. She holds a Ph.D. in counselor education from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.
Dr. Barkley is slated to become the first woman president of Spoon River College on August 31. She comes to her new role from John Wood Community College in Quincy, Illinois, where she serves as vice president of academic and student affairs.
