Rosanna Garcia, an expert on business innovation and marketing, has joined the business schools at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts as the Paul R. Beswick Professor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. She most recently held the Walter Koch Endowed Chair of Entrepreneurship at the University of Denver. Earlier, she held associate professor positions at North Carolina State University and Northeastern University in Boston.
Dr. Garcia earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and a bachelor’s degree in business economics at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She holds an MBA in marketing and finance from the University of Rochester in New York, and a Ph.D. in marketing from the Eli Broad Graduate School of Business at Michigan State University.
Shu Yang was named the Joseph Bordogna Professor of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Yang is a professor in the department of materials science and engineering at the School of Engineering and Applied Science. She joined Penn in 2004 after four years at Bell Laboratories.
Dr. Yang’s research is in the area of novel materials synthesis and fabrication methods. She holds a Ph.D. from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.
Felicity Schaeffer has been named to the Peggy and Jack Baskin Foundation Presidential Chair for Feminist Studies at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Her research interests include transnational feminism, migration, Latin American/Latino studies, technology and the body, and sexuality. She has taught women’s studies at the university for 16 years.
Professor Schaeffer’s latest book Unsettled Borders: The Militarized Surveillance on Sacred Indigenous Land is forthcoming from Duke University Press.
Donatella Stocchi-Perucchio, an associate professor of modern languages and cultures at the University of Rochester in New York, has been appointed as the Arnold Lisio ’56, ’61M (MD) and Anne Moore Lisio, MD Endowed Distinguished Professor in Italian Language & Culture. Her major research areas are Dante Studies, modern Italian literature and culture, and the Ventennio, with attention to the dialogue between literature, history, and the arts.
Dr. Stocchi-Perucchio holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in Italian and romance studies from Cornell University.
