Three Women Scholars Appointed to Lead Schools at State Universities

Ece Erdogmus was named chair of the School of Building Construction in the College of Design at the Georgia Institute of Technology. She was the associate director of the Durham School of Architectural Engineering and Construction at the University of Nebraska.

Dr. Erdogmus is a graduate of Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in architectural engineering from Pennsylvania State University.

Sarah J. Tracy is the new interim director of the Hugh Downs School of Human Communication at Arizona State University. A professor of organizational communication and qualitative methodology, Dr. Tracy has taught at the university for 21 years. Her work is focused on cultivating human flourishing, wisdom, and connection at work. Dr. Tracy is the author of Qualitative Research Methods: Collecting Evidence, Crafting Analysis, Communication Impact (Wiley-Blackwell, Second Edition, 2020).

Dr. Tracey is a graduate of the Univerity of Southern California, where she majored in public relations and communication. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in communication from the University of Colorado Boulder.

Tracey Rizzuto was appointed interim director of the School of Leadership & Human Resource Development in the College of Human Sciences & Education at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. She is the Mary Ethel Baxter Lipscomb Memorial Endowed Professor of Human Resource, Leadership, and Organizational Development and has taught at the university since 2004. She has been serving as the associate director of the School of Leadership & Human Resource Development.

Rizzuto is a graduate of Louisiana State University, where she majored in psychology. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in industrial/organizational psychology from Pennsylvania State University.
