A Trio of Women Who Have Been Hired to University Diversity Posts

Nicoli Richardson was appointed deputy equity, equality opportunity, and Title IX coordinator in the Office for Equity, Equal Opportunity, and Title IX at the University of Southern California. She will focus on complying with federal, state, and local anti-discrimination laws for the School of Medicine and other health-related fields. Richardson was a senior investigator in USC’s former Office of Equity and Diversity after working for more than a decade as an attorney with experience in the medical and healthcare fields.

Richardson is a graduate of Stanford University, where she majored in English. She earned a juris doctorate at the University of Miami in Florida.

Roe Bubar, a professor of ethnic studies who is jointly appointed in the School of Social Work and affiliate faculty in the Center for Women’s Studies and Gender Research at Colorado State University, will take on additional duties as the interim vice president for diversity at the university. Professor Bubar’s research interests include sexual violence, child maltreatment in tribal communities, Indigenous methodologies, and Indigenous feminisms.

Professor Bubar is a graduate of the Univerity of New Hampshire, where she majored in psychology. She holds a juris doctorate from the University of Colorado.

Stephanie A. Roth has been named associate vice chancellor for equal access at Vanderbilt University in Nashville. She has held the post on an interim basis for the past year. Roth previously served as associate general counsel for Vanderbilt, where her practice primarily focused on student concerns and Title IX matters.

Roth is a graduate of Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, where she majored in religion. She holds a master of divinity degree from Emory University in Atlanta and a juris doctorate from Vanderbilt University.
