Victoria Morse was named the Humphrey Doermann Professor of Liberal Learning. Professor Morse joined the history department in 1999 where she teaches medieval and Renaissance history, with an emphasis on Italy and the cultures around the Mediterranean Sea. She is currently working on a book about political changes in northern Italy in the 14th century. Dr. Morse holds a bachelor’s degree in French, a master’s degree in history, a master of library and information sciences degree, and a Ph.D. in medieval history, all from the University of California, Berkeley
Anna Moltchanova was appointed the David and Mary-Alice Sipfle Professor of Philosophy. Dr. Moltchanova joined the department of philosophy at Carleton College in 2001. She specializes in social and political philosophy, philosophy of law, phenomenology, and most recently, social ontology. She is the author of National Self-Determination and Justice in Multinational States (Springer, 2009). Professor Moltchanova is a graduate of St. Petersburg State University in Russia, where he majored in philosophy. She earned a Ph.D. in philosophy at McGill University in Montreal.
Anna Moltchanova is the new David and Marian Adams Bryn-Jones Distinguished Teaching Professor of the Humanities. Professor Hardy joined Carleton’s department of classics in 1990. For 30 years she has taught dozens of courses in the languages, literatures, and cultures of the ancient world. She is active across departmental boundaries, regularly offering classes that satisfy requirements for women’s and gender studies and theater majors. She is the author of Athens 415: The City in Crisis (University of Michigan Press, 2020). Dr. Hardy is a graduate of Oberlin College in Ohio. She earned a Ph.D. at Brown Univerity in Providence, Rhode Island.

Cheryl Norman was appointed president of Ridgewater College in Minnesota and Ellen Kennedy was named interim president of Cape Cod Community College in Massachusetts.
Dr. Scarlatta has led the University of Michigan-Dearbon on an interim basis for the past year. Pending approval from the board of regents, she is slated to become the university's permanent leader on May 22.
Nicole Reaves has been serving as executive vice president and chief programs officer at Wake Technical Community College in Raleigh, North Carolina. On July 15, she is slated to become the first woman president of Schenectady County Community College within the State University of New York System.
