M. Susie Whittington Chosen to Lead the North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture

M. Susie Whittington, professor of agriscience education in the department of agricultural communication, education, and Leadership at Ohio State University, has been selected as president-elect of the North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture. Founded in 1955, NACTA is a professional society that focuses on the scholarship of teaching and learning agriculture and related disciplines at the postsecondary level.

“As a member of NACTA since the early 1990s, my teaching has benefitted from the talent and expertise of its members,” said Dr. Whittington. “I look forward to giving back and to paying forward to a society that has given so much to me.”

Dr. Whittington joined the faculty at Ohio State University in 2000. She also serves as director of the Second-Year Transformational Experience Program at the university. Earlier in her career, Dr. Whittington taught at Pennsylvania State University and the University of Idaho.

Professor Whittington holds bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees in agricultural education, all from Ohio State University.
