College and Universities That Have Appointed Six Women to Administrative Positions

Julie Payne-Kirchmeier has been promoted to vice president for student affairs at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Dr. Payne-Kirchmeier joined Northwestern’s Division of Student Affairs in 2012 and was named associate vice president and chief of staff in 2016. She has been serving as interim vice president for student affairs since June 2019.

Dr. Payne-Kirchmeier received a bachelor’s degree in genetics and a master’s degree in student affairs administration from Texas A&M University. She earned a Ph.D. in educational leadership and administration from Indiana State University.

Katherine A. Stanton has been named director of the McGraw Center for Teaching and Learning and associate dean of the college at Princeton University in New Jersey. Stanton has served as the McGraw Center’s senior associate director for teaching initiatives and programs for faculty since 2017.

Dr. Stanton Holds a Ph.D. in English literature from Rutgers University.

Sonya Audria Miller was appointed counsel at Florida Memorial University in Miami Gardens. Most recently, she served from 2011 to 2020 as deputy general counsel at Broward College in Florida.

Miller obtained a bachelor’s degree from Emory University in Atlanta and a juris doctorate from Temple University School of Law in Philadelphia.

Linda Kopecky is the new associate dean of university libraries and teaching and learning technologies at the University of Nevada at Reno. For the past 20 years, Kopecky worked in library positions at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Kopecky earned a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in library and information science from Northern Illinois University.

Katie Callow-Wright is the new executive vice president and chief of staff in the President’s Office at the University of Chicago. She has worked at the university in various roles since 2000, and most currently served as vice president and secretary of the university and chief of staff.

Callow-Wright holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, and a master’s degree in education from Bowling Green State University in Ohio.

Valora Richardson was named director of Hampton University Online. She was assistant director of technology-enhanced teaching and learning at Georgia State University in Atlanta.

Dr. Richardson earned a bachelor’s degree in English and a Ph.D. in instructional technology from Georgia State University. She holds a master’s degree in technical communication from what is now Kennesaw State University in Marietta, Georgia.
