
In each of the new certificate programs, master’s candidates will learn from Simmons faculty who are experts in these areas, gain hands-on experience in the field, and be fully prepared to work in their area of focus upon graduation. The three new programs will officially launch in September 2019.

Dr. Gushwa is a graduate of the University of Redlands in California. She holds a master of social work degree from California State University, San Bernardino and a Ph.D. from Washington University in St. Louis.
Simmons University enrolls about 1,700 students in its undergraduate programs for women. There are about 4,500 students enrolled in coeducational graduate programs.
