Six New Tenure-Track Women Faculty Members at Middlebury College in Vermont

Kirsten Deane-Coe has been appointed as an assistant professor of biology. She was an assistant professor of biology at St. Mary’s College of Maryland.

Dr. Deane-Coe holds a bachelor’s degree from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse, New York, and a Ph.D. from Cornell University.

Shelby Kimmel has been appointed as an assistant professor of computer science. She has been serving as a visiting assistant professor at Middlebury since 2017.

Dr. Kimmel holds a bachelor’s degree in astrophysics from Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts, and a Ph.D. in physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Natasha Ngaiza has been appointed as an assistant professor of film and media culture. She recently taught film analysis, media arts, and media and culture courses at Temple University in Philadelphia as a graduate student.

Professor Ngaiza holds a bachelor’s degree in literary and cultural studies from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, and a master’s degree in film and media arts from Temple University.

Linsey Sainte-Claire has been appointed as an assistant professor of French. She was a visiting assistant professor of French and Francophone studies at Davidson College in North Carolina.

Dr. Sainte-Claire holds a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in English from Paris Diderot University in France and a master’s degree and Ph.D. in French and Francophone studies from the University of Chicago.

Otilia Milutin has been appointed an assistant professor of Japanese studies. She was a visiting professor in Asian studies at Knox College n Galesburg, Illinois.

Dr. Milutin holds a bachelor’s degree in Japanese and French from the University of Bucharest in Romania, a master’s degree in Japanese literature from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and a Ph.D. in Asian studies from the University of British Columbia.

Raquel Albarrán has been named an assistant professor of Spanish. She was a postdoctoral scholar of Spanish in the department of modern languages and linguistics at Florida State University.

Dr. Albarrán holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Puerto Rico and a master’s degree and Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania.
