Beverly McKeon, the Theodore von Karman Professor of Aeronautics in the Division of Engineering and Applied Science at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, is the recipient of the 2018 Northrop Grumman Prize for Excellence in Teaching. The award honors a scholar who “demonstrates in the broadest sense, unusual ability, creativity, and innovation in undergraduate and graduate classroom or laboratory teaching.”
Professor McKeon holds bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of Cambridge in England. She earned a second master’s degree and a Ph.D. in engineering from Princeton University in New Jersey.
Nicole Dawson, assistant professor of physical therapy at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, received the Margaret L. Moore Award for Outstanding New Academic Faculty from the American Physical Therapy Association.
Dr. Dawson is a graduate of Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio, where she majored in sports medicine. She holds a master of physical therapy degree from Ohio University, a master’s degree, and a Ph.D. in psychology from Cleveland State University.
Katherine L. Dixon-Gordon, an assistant professor of psychological and brain sciences at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, received the 2018 Judy E. Hall Early Career Psychologist Award from the National Register of Health Service Psychologists.
Dr. Dixon-Gordon is a graduate of the University of Washington. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia.
