Mary Pat Seurkamp to Retire From Presidency of the College of Notre Dame

Mary Pat Seurkamp, the first lay person to head the College of Notre Dame in Baltimore, has announced she will step down as president at the end of the 2011-12 academic year. Upon her retirement, she will have served as president for 15 years.

During her tenure, the college established a pharmacy school and a doctoral program in education. The college will soon change its name to Notre Dame of Maryland University.

Dr. Seurkamp is a graduate of Webster University near St. Louis. She holds a master’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis and an educational doctorate from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
