Mount Holyoke College Launches a New Dual Degree Program With Swiss Institute

Mount Holyoke College, the selective liberal arts educational institution for women in South Hadley, Massachusetts, has announced the establishment of joint bachelor’s/master’s degree program in conjunction with the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland.

Under the agreement, students will be able to complete both degrees in five years. Students will spend the first semester of their senior year in Switzerland and then return to Europe for a year after graduating from Mount Holyoke. The institute offers master’s degrees in five disciplines and has two additional multidisciplinary master’s degree programs.

Eva Paus, a professor of economics and the director of the McCulloch Center of Global Initiatives at Mount Holyoke College, states that “the joint B.A./M.A. program will be a fantastic opportunity for students to expand their global education and understanding of the world. Geneva is not only a crossroads of languages and cultures, it is a rich policy ecosystem that offers career opportunities for people from all over the world.”

Professor Paus has been on the faculty at Mount Holyoke since 1987 and was promoted to full professor in 1998. She holds a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree, and a Ph.D. in economics, all from the University of Pittsburgh.
