Four Women Who Are Stepping Down From High-Level Posts in Academia

Rebecca Biron dean of the college at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, will step down form her post at the end of the academic year and return full time to her faculty position as a professor of Spanish and comparative literature. She has served as dean for three years.

Professor Biron joined the faculty at Dartmouth College in 2006. She is a graduate of the University of Georgia and holds a Ph.D. from the University of Iowa.

Barbara-Jan Wilson, vice president of university relations at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut, announced that she will retire at the end of the calendar year. She has served as vice president for university relations since 1999. From 1990 to 1999, she was dean of admission and financial aid and earlier Wilson was director of career resources and associate dean of the college.

Wilson holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Connecticut.

Nona Wood, associate director of student rights and responsibilities at North Dakota State University is retiring. She has served on the staff of the university for the past 29 years.

Wood is a graduate of North Dakota State University. She is the former president of what is now the Association for Student Conduct Administration.

Diana C. Pullin,a professor and former dean of the Lynch School of Education at Boston College, has announced that she will retire at the end of the academic year. She has served on the Boston College faculty for 31 years and holds an affiliate professor position at the Boston College Law School. Professor Pullin served as dean of the School of Education from 1987 to 1994.

Professor Pullin is a graduate of Grinnell College in Iowa. She earned master’s, doctoral, and law degrees from the University of Iowa.
