Beryl McEwen Named Provost at North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro

Beryl McEwen was appointed provost and vice chancellor of academic affairs at North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro. She has served in the post on an interim basis since August 2017.
According to the latest U.S. Department of Education data, the university enrolls nearly 10,000 undergraduates and 1,500 graduate students. Women make up 55 percent of the undergraduate student body at the historically Black university.
Before being named interim provost, Dr. McEwen had been serving as dean of the College of Business at the university since 2014. Earlier, she was vice provost for strategic planning and institutional effectiveness. Dr. McEwen joined the faculty at the university in 1995 as chair of the department of business education.
Dr. McEwen is a graduate of the University of Technology in Jamaica. She holds a master’s degree and a doctorate in business education from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.
