Teresa K. Woodruff, the Thomas J. Watkins Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and director of the Women’s Health Research Institute at Northwestern University’s School of Medicine, was named dean of the university’s Graduate School and associate provost for graduate education.
Woodruff has been a member of the Northwestern University community for 32 years as a doctoral student and faculty member.
Bonnie Rush was named acting dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University. She is a professor of equine internal medicine at the veterinary school.
Dr. Rush joined the faculty at Kansas State University in 1993. She holds a doctor of veterinary medicine degree from Ohio State University.
Janice Kaushal was appointed dean of career technical education at Prairie State College in Chicago Heights, Illinois. She has been serving as an adjunct faculty member at North Park University in Chicago and Robert Morris University in Pennsylvania.
Dean Kaushal holds a bachelor’s degree and a master of fine arts degree from Columbia College in Chicago. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in higher education from Cardinal Stritch in Milwaukee.
Catherine L. Gilliss was named dean of the School of Nursing at the University of California, San Francisco. She will also hold the title of associate vice chancellor for nursing affairs. From 2004 to 2014, Dr. Gilliss was dean of the School of Nursing at Duke University.
Dr. Gilliss is a graduate of Duke University. She holds a master’s degree from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. and a Ph.D. from the University of California, San Francisco.
Antoinette Phillips was appointed dean of the College of Business at Southeastern Louisiana University. She has been on the faculty at the university since 1990.
Professor Phillips is a graduate of the University of Alabama, where she majored in finance. She holds an MBA from the University of South Alabama and a Ph.D. in management from Louisiana State University.
Dr. Scarlatta has led the University of Michigan-Dearbon on an interim basis for the past year. Pending approval from the board of regents, she is slated to become the university's permanent leader on May 22.
