Four Women Named to Lead Business Schools as Deans

Sharon F. Matusik is the new dean of the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado at Boulder. She has been serving as interim dean since January. Earlier, she was senior associate dean for faculty and research.

Dr. Matusik is a graduate of Colby College in Waterville, Maine, where she double majored in English and economics. She earned a doctorate in strategic management from the University of Washington.

Simone Cummings is the new dean of the Walker School of Business & Technology at Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. Earlier, she was associate dean of academic quality assurance and an associate professor of business at the school. Dean Cummings joined the faculty at Webster University in 2013.

Dr. Cummings holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in health administration from Washington University in St. Louis. She earned a Ph.D. in health policy and administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Debra Louis was named dean of the Glenn R. Jones College of Business at Trident University in Cypress, California. She joined the faculty at the university in 2003 and has been serving as interim dean since last November.

Dr. Louis is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, where she majored in psychology. She earned an MBA at Southern Illinois University and a Ph.D. in organizational behavior from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.

Kathy White Loyd was named interim dean of the College of Business at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. She is the executive director of the Women’s Business Leadership Center at the university, and will continue in that post.

Dr. Loyd earned an MBA at Arkansas State University. She holds a doctorate in business education from the University of Memphis.
