Four Women Who Are Stepping Down From Their Posts in Academia

Louise Lonabocker, executive director of student services and registrar at Boston College, has announced that she will retire at the end of the academic year. She has served in these roles for the past 20 years and has been on the staff at the University for 46 years.

Lonabocker’s first job at Boston College was a secretary in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

Nancy Kleniewski, the seventh president of the State University of New York at Oneonta, has announced that she will retire at the end of the 2017-18 academic year. She became president of the university on September 12, 2008. Earlier, Dr. Kleniewski was provost and vice president for academic affairs at Bridgewater State University in Massachusetts.

President Kleniewski is a graduate of Emmanuel College in Boston. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in sociology from Temple University in Philadelphia.

Sue Haug, director of the School of Music at Pennsylvania State University, announced that she will sep down at the end of the academic year. Dr. Haug will remain on the faculty at the university.

Dr. Haug holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She earned a doctorate of musical arts at the University of Iowa.

Susan S. Grover, vice provost for academic and faculty affairs at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, will retire at the end of the academic year. During her 29-year career at the university, she has served as professor of law and director of equal opportunity.

A graduate of Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia, Professor Grover earned her law degree at Georgetown University.
